Good location but could be renovated

Good location in a lively area in the historic centre of Cartagena. Staff was nice.

The room was a bit old, in need of some renovations. The breakfast was basic, we could only order one item from a menu, plus coffee and a small bowl of fruit. Apart from being basic, sometimes it took a long time, as there was only one waitress taking care of all guests.

Right price and location to experience Old Town Cartagena

Hard to beat this location and price, right in the heard of the old town Cartagena. This is the perfect place to come back after a day of exploring. A basic breakfast is included.

Staff was very kind and nice!

Staff was very kind and nice! Breakfast was very simple. Rooms are small, but ok. On the second day they moved us to a quieter room with newer conditioned air. Really appreciated it because I'm allergic.

Wifi didn't work on the room floors. You had to get down to the first floor to go online.

Great location, is close to everything.

Great location, is close to everything. Breakfast is ok.

When you enter the place, it is a dark corridor with the reception in the middle of the darkness and behind it 4 tables for breakfast. There are no windows and dark. The receptionist has just very basic information about a Cartagena and where to go. They are polite but dont say hello when you enter the place. If you need help on searching for a place or local in Cartagena she is not proactive on helping you or even trying to search it on the internet for you. The room we had had no windows.

Good location, pretty old hotel, room needs a little upgrade.

The location is good, staff were accommodating and nice, breakfast was okay. AC, TV, fridge working well.

My bed was not that comfortable,instead of a king bed, they combined 2 twin and it kept moving. At some point the mattress became uncomfortable as it was pretty old.

Adequate lodging for one night in Cartagena; beware of noise if facing street.

Hotel is located in the middle of Old Town, central to most everything. The air conditioning worked well and wifi worked in the lobby.

Rooms are not well appointed. There was no stand for your luggage. We had a closet that was less than a meter wide and was without a bar or hangers.

What was the highlight of Hotel Portal De San Diego

A hidden gem!

This hotel is centrally located in the historic walled city and is within walking distance to everything. The staff members were extremely helpful and took great pride in their work.

The water in the room did not get hot. So the showers were unpleasant in the mornings but appreciated after a long hot day out walking. Otherwise, an outstanding hotel with excellent value for the price. I would definately stay here again.

The location was perfect to do whatever you want to do, the middle of Centro Historico.

There are no elevators, and on the day we stayed, there was no television available in all day and all night.

I would not come back.

The bed was confortable and the air conditioning was silent.

Although I informed every day, the TV did not work during my stay of 4 days. The hotel provided a discount, but did not correct the problem. One of the bedrooms was very small, did not have a wardrobe or space for hanging the clothes. The walls had marks and scratches from luggage. The bathroom did not have ventilation. The photos provided from the hotel give an idea different from what I have found.
